Conventional Cancer Care
Cancer Care, Conventional
Medicine
Dr.Sheng has been practicing Oncology and Hematology using western approach since 1985,
and added acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine to his practice for a full
spectrum of patient care since 1991. Based on his practice experience, he knows
how powerful Chinese medicine can be in offering solutions to many difficult
and perplexing medical problems. After twenty two years of practicing western
medicine, Ihe decided to concentrate on holistice medicine, acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine to help cancer patients.
As of
2/25/2008 he no longer offers chemotherapy, instead, he focuses on enhancing quality of life and coping with side effects of cancer
treatment. His service will also cover anyone who
is in need of acupuncture, herbal supplements, or second opinions for any
problem including cancer .
He has touched over fifteen thousand lives over the
past twenty years. He is now teaching Oncology fellows from University of Cincinnati Medical School on a part time basis.
Second Opinion Consult for patients with cancer diagnosis and blood disorder
Voted
one of the top Hematology and Oncology doctors in the Cincinnati Magazine, Dr.
Sheng believes in integrative oncology.
Dr. Sheng has over twenty years
of experience in western medicine and eastern medicine which includes
acupuncture and Chinese herbology.
He has recently received additional
training in functional medicine and Contact Reflex Analysis, CRA, which is a
more advanced form of kinesiology testing.
The initial
reactions for most patients who receive the cancer diagnosis are fear and
denials.
Driven by the fear and misunderstanding of the disease and
treatments, patients might delay making treatment decisions, delay initiation
of therapy, or decide to pursue alternative therapy only.
All situations
can significantly affect their prognosis.
As a believer in integrative
oncology, Dr. Sheng clearly sees that the best solution is an integrated
approach.
Unfortunately, most oncologists are not experienced in
complementary and alternative therapy, and most alternative practitioners are
not adequately trained in cancer medicine.
A lot of
cancer patients ask: "What else can be done to improve my prognosis, to
palliate cancer symptoms and treatment related side effects?"
Dr. Sheng answers the questions by using acupuncture, herbs, nutritional
supplements, and teaching relaxation exercises, etc.
For patients
who desire a more holistic approach, Dr. Sheng will review your diagnosis,
prognosis, go over treatment options based on western medicine first, then
discuss with you a more holistic approach.
He will discuss the options of
nutritional intervention, nutraceutical supplements and Chinese herbal remedy
tailored to your condition.
